Baghdad, "The fourth amendment to the law of parliamentary elections is aimed at not putting Iraq in a constitutional vacuum," said Mohsen al-Saadoun, chairman of the parliamentary legal committee.
He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The fourth amendment to the law of the elections of the Council of Representatives No. 45 of 2013, will be (continuing) of the work of the House of Representatives, not (extension) work, until the completion of the process of counting and sorting and the ratification of the Federal Court on Election results ".
Al-Saadoun pointed out that "the diligence of the parliament to make a fourth amendment to the election law and put the word (continuation) work of the Council, came in order not to be the current government a caretaker government, ".
He explained that "there is another paragraph in the amendment related to clarify the decision of the Federal Court on the process of counting and sorting, and this will be voted in the session next Thursday."
The House of Representatives ended its session on Sunday under the chairmanship of Salim al-Jubouri and discussed the proposed amendment to the Fourth Law of the elections of the House of Representatives No. 45 of 2013.
