BAGHDAD, The Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Othman Al-Ghanmi concluded his visit to the State of Qatar, where it was agreed to engage in joint exercises that support the capabilities of the two armies.
The defense ministry said in a statement that "The Iraqi military delegation, headed by the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi army, discussed during the visit a number of axes, the most important of which is the enhancement of military cooperation and training in the maritime and air fields. Qatar expressed its readiness and full support for Iraq in these areas, as well as studying joint maneuvers and exercises to support the capabilities of the two armies. "
The statement added that "The two sides stressed the depth of the historical relationship between the two countries, and stressed that this visit is the beginning to look forward to building a strong and solid partnership in all fields."
The future visions were discussed through the agreement on the formation of subcommittees of the two sides to study and follow up the agreements aim to develop the military capabilities of the two sister countries.
