BAGHDAD, The UN Security Council (UNSC) called to intensify efforts to revive the search for missing Kuwaitis, citizens of other countries and missing Kuwaiti property in Iraq.

In a statement to Britain's ambassador to the United Nations, Karen Pearce, said that the UNSC continued to encourage Iraq and Kuwait to exert efforts to revive the process and end the humanitarian issue.

The Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the United Nations Mansour Al-Otaibi said that the issue of Kuwaiti prisoners of war remains as open wounds, pointing out that the suffering of their families is still ongoing.

Al-Otaibi said in Kuwait's speech at the Security Council session on the situation in Iraq that the fate of 236 out of 605 had been revealed. However, since 2004, no prisoner or missing person has been identified and no progress has been made.
