BAGHDAD, Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi issued a decree to oust Faleh Fahad al-Fayadh from his duties as National Security Adviser, Chairman of the Popular Crowd and the National Security Apparatus.
According to a statement by the Prime Minister Office of Information said, "because of the involvement of Faleh Fahad al-Fayadh in the political and party work and his desire to deal with political affairs, this is contrary to the sensitive security tasks that he undertakes and based on the Iraqi constitution in the neutrality of the security services, the intelligence and the law of the popular mobilization and the regulations and instructions contained in this regard, and our directives that prevent the exploitation of sensitive security posts in partisan activities, and based on the powers vested in us decided the following:
1-Faleh Faysal Fahad al-Fayadh was ousted of his duties as a National Security Adviser and Head of the Popular Crowd and the National Security Apparatus.
2- This decision shall be implemented from the date of its issuance.
