Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, met at his Ain-el-Tineh residence on Tuesday, with Caretaker Minister of Social Affairs, Pierre Bou Assi.
Speaking to reporters following the talks, Bou Assi that he discussed with Berri an array of current affairs, on top of which the housing loan crisis, adding that he has handed the Speaker a related draft law in the name of the "Strong Republic" parliamentary bloc.
He also said that talks touched on the current political situation and the government formation issue.
"I am not entitled to disclose what the Speaker has told me. But all I can say is that we and Berri agree that nobody is strong in a weak republic," he said.
Separately, Berri met with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Zasypkin, with whom he discussed the current situation on the local and regional scenes.
Earlier, the Speaker had respectively received Head of Kesserwan-Ftouh Municipalities' Union Joan Hbeish, and former minister Naji Bustani.
