BAGHDAD, The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr called on the new parliament to hold a public session on Sunday to discuss the situation in Basra
He said in a televised speech "the invitation includes the prime minister and a number of ministers, including the interior minister, water resources, reconstruction and housing, and the governor of Basra and its council, or else they should resign from their positions, although their mandate has expired."
Moqtada al-Sadr called for understanding with neighboring countries to increase water releases by sending official delegations to those countries.
He stressed the importance of dialogue to resolve the crisis.
Sadr threatened those who described them (corrupters) who caused the country's devastation to take a position that "will not come to their mind and shakes their thrones."
