Maalouf: Strong Lebanon bloc holds onto presidential settlement

MP Edgard Maalouf on Thursday maintained that the "Strong Lebanon" parliamentary bloc holds onto the presidential settlement and national partnership, renewing calls to speed up the formation of a national unity government.

"Our bloc insists on the persistence of the presidential settlement and partnership, as well as on the formation of a national unity government that respects the criteria and results of the legislative elections," the lawmaker told an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station (VDL).

"The lineup format circulating today will produce an unproductive government, which is exactly what we don't want," he said.
