Lebanese Forces MP George Okeis said on Friday that the regional situation was heading towards further deterioration, calling for amplified efforts to break any link between the formation of the government and regional developments.
Interviewed by the Voice of Lebanon radio station, the lawmaker also highlighted the paramount importance of accelerating the birth of the cabinet in a bid to face looming challenges.
"The Lebanese Forces (LF) has provided all the facilities and concessions possible for the birth of the government; it accepted four ministries after demanding five with a sovereign portfolio," Okeis said, calling on political parties to follow suit and make concessions.
"The ball today in the courtyard of others and not in that of the Lebanese Forces," he added.
