Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Gebran Bassil, on Wednesday discussed with US Ambassador to Lebanon, Elizabeth Richard, her country's position regarding UNRWA dossier, as well as bilateral ties between the two countries.
Minister Bassil separately had an audience with General Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Eng. Luis Lahoud, accompanied by General Director of the General Organization of vineyards and wine, Jean-Marie Oran.
"We tackled the condition of the wine sector in Lebanon and the problems it faces. We also discussed the work of embassies and diplomatic missions throughout the world to market it, especially after the ministry had organized the launch of the Lebanese Wine Day in several countries including Paris, Berlin, Geneva, Zurich, New York, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco," Lahoud said in the wake of the meeting.
On a different level, Minister Bassil received a letter from his Omani counterpart, Youssef Bin Alawi, conveyed to him by the Sultanate's Ambassador to Lebanon, Badr Bin Mohammed al-Manthari.
Bassil later received a copy of the credentials of the newly appointed Qatari ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammed Hassan Jaber Al-Jaber, to be submitted later to the President of the Republic.
The Minister finally met with Brazilian Ambassador Georgy Kadri, who paid him a farewell visit marking the end of his diplomatic mission in Beirut.
