Baabda Palace witnessed on Monday a series of diplomatic, political, and developmental meetings. Simultaneously, President Michel Aoun followed up on cabinet formation progress in light of the country's political parties' fresh stances.
At the diplomatic level, Aoun met with French Ambassador to Lebanon, Bruno Foucher, with whom he tackled the general situation, the most recent developments, and the best means to bolster Lebanese-French relations.
Talks between the pair also touched on the formation of the new government. Ambassador Foucher noted that his country paid particular attention to the cabinet formation, "especially following up on the implementation of CEDRE Conference decisions and recommendations."
He reiterated that French President, Emmanuel Macron's visit to Beirut would be in February, 2019.
At the political level, President Aoun met with MP Jean Obeid and discussed with him the general political situation, especially pertaining to the formation of the new government.
President Aoun also broached a number of developmental issues involving the needs of Keserwan region with MP Roger Azar.
The President finally discussed with Jbeil Municipalities Union head, Fadi Martinos, the needs of the municipalities and the projects carried out in a number of districts in Jbeil.
