Caretaker Interior Minister, Nuhad Machnouk, on Thursday welcomed at his ministerial office the British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling, who came on a courtesy visit upon assumption of his diplomatic duties in Lebanon.
Ambassador Rampling stressed continual UK support to all joint projects with the Interior Ministry, particularly supporting the Internal Security Forces (ISF) and the Lebanese municipalities hosting Syrian refugees.
Minister Machnouk, for his part, thanked the UK for its support to the Interior Ministry and its apparatuses, especially the ISF.
Machnouk highly valued the British contribution in the five-year plan set for the institution.
Inquiring about the row that occurred yesterday at the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport, Machnouk assured that the "dispute was over" and a transparent military investigation into the matter was launched in a bid to take the appropriate measures.
