Manama, Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam Abdulla Khalaf inspected voters' lists which are displayed at the municipalities in the Southern, Northern and Muharraq governorates.
He was accompanied by municipal officials, Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission (LLOC) President, Municipal Elections executive director, chancellor Nawaf Abdulla Hamza.
He announced the establishment of teams at each municipality to facilitate election propaganda, promote candidates' awareness and issue licences for electoral tents and provide required supports.
The teams will start work at the launch of the elections campaigns, under the supervision of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry Undersecretary for Municipal affairs Dr. Nabeel Abul Fatah.
The minister announced the appointment of Asem Abdullatif as coordinator in tandem with the High Elections Committee to organized and coordinate municipal propaganda campaigns.
The teams, which include inspectors and technicians will be tasked to follow up elections billboards and guide candidates after their registration. Booklets will also be distributed, featuring election instructions and regulations.
The ministry urged full commitment to the law 77 of 2006 on regulating parliamentary and municipal polls.
In a statement to Bahrain's news agency, he commended citizens' awareness, particularly in using the electronic link to check their names electronically online and take part in the democratic practice.
Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission (LLOC) President, Municipal Elections executive director, chancellor Nawaf Abdulla Hamza stressed the importance of the phase of displaying municipal voters' lists until the 3rd of October.
He said that up to 1200 volunteers would be required on the day of the elections. The terms for selecting volunteers were posted on the elections portal on Instagram, the electronic site. He announced that youngsters have started submitting their applications to volunteer in the upcoming parliamentary and municipal polls.
