BAGHDAD, The death toll of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Indonesian Sulawesi island rose to /832/ while the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) said the affected areas could be larger than expected.
"The number of victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesian Sulawesi island has risen to 832," the Agency said, adding that "the National Disaster Management Agency believes the affected area is larger than initially thought."
"There are reports that many are trapped under the rubble of buildings that collapsed after the 7.5-magnitude earthquake," Spokesman of the Disaster Management Agency Sotobu Boro told a news conference.
The earthquake struck the island of Sulawesi on Friday, resulting in tsunamis with a peak of six meters.
