Hariri receives Austrian Foreign Minister

Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri welcomed on Tuesday at the Center House the Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl and her accompanying delegation.

After the meeting, Kneissl said: "I met Prime Minister Hariri during my studies in Georgetown. I visited Lebanon regularly in the last thirty years. It is in a way a reunion. We had a very frank discussion about the regional situation. He thanked me for the massive participation of the Austrian troops in UNIFIL, which I will visit tomorrow. We also discussed the possibilities of transition that could occur in Syria and the situation of refugees in Lebanon and Syria."

On teh other hand, Hariri also received International Finance Corporation's principal country officer in Iraq Ziad Badr, who said after the meeting: "We discussed the possibility of the participation of Lebanese companies and investors in the reconstruction of Iraq, which amounts to 88 billion dollars, according to the estimates of the World Bank, and how to benefit from it especially that the investment revenues in Iraq are considered to be the highest despite the risks. We also discussed the possibility of forming a delegation of Lebanese businessmen to visit Iraq and meet with officials to this end."

Hariri later met with caretaker Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil.
