KIRKUK, Commander of the special operations, commander of the law enforcement in Kirkuk, Major General Maan al-Saadi, revealed the details of a terrorist network recently uncovered in Kirkuk after the arrest of 27 of its members, headed by the terrorist called Abu Abdul Rahman.
Maj. Gen. Maan al-Saadi told NINA that the heroes of the anti-terrorism and during monitoring and intelligence follow-up, following the terrorist bombing that took place in the city in the beginning of the holy month of Muharram, during which one of the terrorists was arrested after the explosion immediately after providing information about the intentions of the terrorists, and then we moved on the rest of the members of the cell, and the number of detainees who are now in the grip of justice reached 27 wanted, including the senior leader, nicknamed Abu Abdul Rahman, with the seizure of explosive belts and equipment and sticky bombs.
Al-Saadi said that the terrorists formed their cell in Kirkuk six months ago. They rely on the spread in most of Kirkuk's neighborhoods. They hide their explosives in areas outside the city center. And they transfer them gradually and at night. They use vehicles model 2000 and 2001 and travel through motorcycles. The terrorists' ages between 1984 to 1997, and they are among the civilian, which are the most difficult and dangerous in pursuing them because they are trained and spread with the citizens and their neighborhoods, not military battles.
Al-Saadi said that a car bomb was seized, one of the suicide bombers was killed, a number of terrorists were arrested and three operations and air strikes were carried out with the help of the international coalition aircraft, during which more than 30 terrorists were killed in recent weeks, including one of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's aides. .
Major General Maan al-Saadi confirmed the readiness of the counter-terrorism units to any emergency, denying at the same time, the participation of any other forces in achieving stability in the security and safety of the people of Kirkuk.
