Beijing, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Secretary General Shaikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa cast his ballot in the 2018 parliamentary elections at the Bahraini embassy in the Chinese capital Beijing where he is on an official visit.
Shaikh Salman expressed pride in performing his patriotic duty and to cast his ballot in the parliamentary elections as a democratic national entitlement inspired by the reform process launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The parliamentary elections constitute an important platform to consolidate and develop democratic achievements by building on the accomplishments of the constitutional institutions. They consolidate the values of democratic practices, promote popular participation in national decision-making, and advance the overall development of our beloved kingdom, he said.
Shaikh Salman met Ambassador Anwar Abdullah and the embassy staff and thanked them for their preparations and efforts to ensure the success of the electoral process and assist the Bahraini citizens in China with carrying out their patriotic duty.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has designated 29 embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions for Bahrainis to cast their ballots.
Elections in Bahrain will be held on November 24.
