Sehnaoui says sectarian distribution of government shares led to ‘Sunni hurdle’

MP Nicolas Sehnaoui on Wednesday explained that the distribution of ministerial shares inside the new government upon sectarian criteria had led to the so-called Sunni hurdle.

"Governmental shares are being distributed according to sects; Minister Gebran Bassil have been calling since the beginning, for determined criteria. But this hasn't been applied and this is why we are facing today the so-called Sunni hurdle," the lawmaker told an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station.

On a different note, Sehnaoui indicated that the Public Works House committee and Beirut MPs had summoned the concerned sides regarding Beirut decoration's scandal, promising to uncover the names of culprits once the investigations wrap up.
