Bou Assi via twitter calls for cabinet meeting in case of intention to invite Assad to economic summit

Caretaker Minister of Social Affairs, Pierre Bou Assi, said via twitter on Monday that he had been surprised by some incoming media reports about a tripartite Lebanese-Jordanian-Iraqi committee to meet in Egypt in an attempt to convince the Arab League to invite Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, to attend the Arab Economic Summit in mid-June.

"Lebanon's participation in a committee of this kind entails a decision by the government to consult and take an appropriate decision; therefore, in the case of an intention to invite the Syrian President, I call for an extraordinary meeting for by the caretaker government to discuss this matter," Bou Assi added.
