Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rahi, called on the political class in Lebanon to "rise above their personal interests and narrow calculations for the sake of the country and its people."
Rahi, whose words came during Sunday's Mass service in Bkirki, pointed at those hindering the formation of the new cabinet.
"How can the people of power and parliamentary blocs reach out to each other, while each and every one of them is committed to their views and demands?" the Patriarch wondered.
Rahi also called on politicians to make necessary reforms and development at the economic, security and social levels.
