In a press release by Prime Minister Saad Hariri's Media Office, it indicated that the PM conferred with senior officials on the sidelines of his participation in the Islamic Summit in Mecca.
"The Fourteenth Islamic Summit, under the theme "Hand-in-hand towards the Future", began at 1 am in Mecca, at the Safa Palace, under the presidency of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdelaziz. The Summit addressed the challenges facing the Arab region and the affairs of Muslim countries.
The Lebanese delegation to the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), led by Prime Minister Saad Hariri, includes Ministers Jamal Jarrah and Wael Abu Faour, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hani Chmaitli, and Lebanon's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Faouzi Kabara.
Hariri was greeted upon his arrival by King Salman bin Abdelaziz. After the souvenir photo, the Summit started and some heads of state and delegations gave speeches. It ended around 2.30 am and the Saudi Monarch offered a suhour in honor of the delegations.
On the sidelines of his participation in the Summit, Hariri met at dawn with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. They discussed developments in Lebanon and the region and bilateral relations.
Hariri also met with heads of delegations last night, including the Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, the Iraqi President Barham Salih, the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Saifuddin Abdallah. He discussed with each of them the Arab situation and the bilateral relations."
