Minister of Planning Discusses With A Delegation From Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority Enhancing Joint Cooperation

BAGHDAD, Minister of Planning, Nuri Sabah Al-Dulaimi on Wednesday discussed with a delegation from the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) headed by Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Otaibi, the executive director of supporting and following up investments in the SAGIA, ways of enhancing cooperation and investment fields to serve the interests of both countries..

During the meeting, which was attended by the head of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, Hussein Ali Dawood, the Minister reviewed the laws and legislations issued by the Council of Ministers to provide a suitable environment for investment;

The Minister pointed to the investment opportunities available in Iraq through which can invest Iraqi energies and provide more job opportunities for holders of degrees throughout Iraq, stressing to providing all possible facilities to achieve the common benefits of the two brotherly countries.

For his part, Abdullah Al-Otaibi confirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation in various fields between the two sides, stressing the readiness of Saudi companies to invest in Iraq.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Saudi delegation held a joint meeting at the Ministry of Planning with the head of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, Hussein Ali Dawood, during which they discussed mechanisms of recognition of the conformity program between the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control and the Saudi Organization for Standardization.

The Chairman reviewed the opportunities announced by the National Investment Commission, including Baghdad Pharmaceutical Supplies Factory, the Samarra Pharmaceutical Industries Factory, the Diwaniyah Dairy Factory, and investment in agricultural fields.

He called on Saudi companies to contribute in the field of mechanical industries, especially modern irrigation technology projects, for their strategic benefits in the field of water conservation and investment in Iraqi industrial production, stressing the agreement to exchange these files between the two sides permanently within a period of 30 days.
