The United States, Australia, Austria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, Italy, Cyprus, Bahrain, Qatar, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Britain, Tajikistan, Norway and Jordan will participate in the exercise.
According to media spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Thalji, the exercise contributes to developing the ability to adapt with Arab and foreign countries to achieve strategic and mobilization goals that enhance cooperation and readiness between the participating countries in the field of combating terrorism, and simulates joint work and training in traditional and non-traditional operations, command and control procedures and cyber-security. .
He said in a press statement today that the exercise comes within the strategic efforts made by the Jordanian armed forces to strengthen and enhance relations with the participating countries in all military areas, especially training.
He noted that the exercise seeks to strengthen the capacity of the armed forces to work and common understanding of various types through field training and seminars and strengthen the mechanism of coordination with institutions involved in crisis management ministries and security agencies.
He pointed out that the prepared lion is considered the most important and largest exercises carried out by the armed forces in terms of the nature and size of the participating forces and the number of countries, pointing out that the first version of the exercise was launched in 2011, as this year is being held for the ninth time, and is carried out by land, sea and air forces estimated at 8 thousand participants .
Brigadier-General Bradley Swanson, director of training at the US Central Command, said the exercise is in its ninth year to cope with common threats, highlighting the importance and value of the exercise by demonstrating a commitment to partnerships to defend our countries with readiness and rapid response under unstable security conditions.
Combined training helps reduce threat by developing new ideas and scenarios that improve countries' ability to assess the operational environment. He added.
Bradley said military engagements, whether practical training, seminars for senior commanders, or public visits are ways to ensure that we fully understand strategic and operational opportunities. Exercises in particular increase the importance of working in unfamiliar environments, increasing the value and usefulness of teamwork and joint training. .
It is noteworthy that the prepared lion exercise is the result of military partnerships between the participating countries in various operational and training fields and its activities are carried out in several training fields of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
