Opening of 6th International Forum, 5th Arab Forum for Renewable Energy in Jordan

Amman, The 6th International Forum and 5th Arab Forum for Renewable Energy began in Amman today with the participation of representatives from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco, Kuwait, Mauritania, Iraq, and other organizations and experts.

Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati, said that since 2014, Jordan has developed a legislative environment in the fields of renewable energy projects "sun and wind" to pump clean electricity to the electricity grid with a total capacity of 1200 megawatts, about 12 percent of the electricity generated in Jordan in 2018.

She pointed out during the opening of the forum that the volume of investment in renewable energy exceeded the barrier of four billion U.S. dollars.
