Riyadh, Acting Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received here today a media delegation from various media institutions headed by President of the Saudi News Agency (SPA) Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussain.
During the meeting, the media delegation was briefed on initiatives in the domains of ideology, media, counter terrorism financing as well as the military domain. All these initiatives aim to strengthen avenues of cooperation and coordination among IMCTC member countries, based on values of legitimacy, independence, coordination and participation to ensure that all member countries' efforts are in line with international law, rules and norms.
Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi point out that the IMCTC exerted great efforts in establishing strategic relationships with the relevant media institutions to achieve the media initiatives due to the great and effective role of media in combating terrorism and violent extremism.
In this context, a panel titled "Media Tackling with Terrorism Issues .. Saudi Experience" was presented by Saudi media representative in the IMCTC Dr. Mohammad bin Suleiman Al-Subaihi. During the panel, the media delegation was briefed on the Saudi successful media practices in the field of combating terrorism and extremism.
