Washington, US Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met today with his German counterpart Heiko Maas on the sidelines of Berlin Conference to discuss the situation in Libya.
In a statement issued by the US Department of State today, the two sides discussed ongoing international efforts to support a durable ceasefire, a return to a political process, and an end of foreign interference in Libya. They also pledged to continue strong support for Libyan sovereignty.
The statement added that the US Secretary Pompeo and German Foreign Minister Maas also discussed US-German coordination on a range of global challenges, including Afghanistan, and the need to counter Iran's aggressive and destabilizing actions in the Middle East.
