Baghdad, Spokesman for the Saudi-led Arab Coalition Forces, Colonel Turki al-Maliki, announced that the coalition holds the Houthis responsible for the life and safety of the Tornado air crew under international humanitarian law.
Colonel al-Maliki said, according to the Saudi Press Agency, that the air crew, consisting of (two officers), used lifeboats to get out of the plane before it crashed.
He added that the Houthis fired weapons and bullets towards the air crew, which violates the provisions of international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
Accordingly, the life and safety of the air crew is the responsibility of the Houthis, he added.
Ansar Allah announced midnight on Saturday, enabling its air defenses to shoot down the Tornado fighter for the Arab alliance, with a surface-to-air missile with modern technology, while carrying out hostile missions in the sky of Al-Jawf Governorate.
Ansar Allah group, Al Houthi, showed scenes that it said were the process of shooting down the fighter in the Al-Jawf border region with Saudi Arabia.
The group did not clarify the fate of the Air Force fighter crew.
