Brazil records world’s second highest coronavirus tally

Rio de Janeiro: Brazil surpassed Russia on Friday to become the country with the second highest number of novel coronavirus cases
behind the United States, according to data from health officials, dpa reported.
On Friday 20,803 new cases were reported, bringing the country’s total to 330,890, according to the Health Ministry.
According to data collected by Johns Hopkins University, Russia has so far recorded 326,448 cases of the disease.
By Friday evening, the US had reported over 1.6 million infections. In Brazil at least 21,048 people have died, the sixth highest number of deaths worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins university.
