Berlin, Robert Lewandowski doesn’t see himself in the same league as Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo although he has beaten the two superstars for the World Footballer of the Year award.
“Messi and Ronaldo have been sitting at the same table at the top for a very long time.
That makes them unique. I don’t see myself next to them,” dpa cited the Bayern Munich striker telling Tuesday’s edition of France Football magazine.
“But if you look at this year’s figures and those from that before then I believe that I am quite good regarding performance and goals scored.”
Lewandowski, 32, was top scorer in the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League as Bayern won the treble, plus the new season’s German and European Super Cup titles.
Barcelona’s Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus had shared 11 of the past 12 editions between themselves.
