Turkey requires a ceasefire in Gaza before entering into any energy projects with Israel

Istanbul – The Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar announced that Turkey will not discuss any energy projects or cooperation with Israel unless military operations in Gaza are stopped.

Bayrakdar said in a televised interview: The current conditions and the atrocities carried out by Israel in the Gaza Strip require a comprehensive review in the field of respecting humanitarian concepts and focusing on the necessary needs of the residents of the Gaza Strip who suffer from continuous bombing and a major shortage of food, medicine, and other life necessities.

Bayraktar stressed that the priority at these moments is how to support Gaza in the areas of electricity, water and food, announcing the arrival of electricity generators to the Gaza Strip and awaiting their transfer through the Rafah crossing.

Iraq participates in the United Nations conference on dealing with remnants of war and explosive materials

Baghdad – Iraq participated in the United Nations conference on treating war remnants and explosive materials.

The Ministry of Defense stated in a statement: “A delegation from Iraq, headed by Lieutenant General Hatem Al-Maksousi, participated in the United Nations conference on treating war remnants and explosive materials, to assist in cleansing operations and assist victims in getting rid of the pollution of wars and terrorist acts, in the presence of (85) countries.”

Minister of Legal Affairs meets UK’s Ambassador

Manama, Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, the Minister of Legal Affairs, received Alastair Long, the UK Ambassador to Bahrain.

The minister commended the historic Bahraini-UK relations and affirmed the keenness to further enhance them.

The meeting reviewed means to further develop cooperation.

The ambassador commended the two countries’ ties and wished Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

Information Ministry participates in WorldDAB

Manama, Abdullah Ahmed Al Balooshi, Information Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs participated as a key speaker in WorldDAB Summit 2023, held in Munich.

Al Balooshi showcased Bahrain’s experience in launching digital radio broadcasting in private studios and activating digital audio broadcasting service (DAB+). He spoke on future plans and cooperation with companies specialised in the production of equipment, noting the importance of adding Arabic text.

The conference discussed the adoption of DAB+ implementation of digital radio, and showcasing progress in using the technology across the world.

The summit was attended by over 500 global DAB+ experts from across the radio industry, including broadcast, automotive and receiver manufacturers, leaders in programming, creative content and marketing.
