The security services arrested 3 drug dealers and another on charges of electronic extortion, and seized a money exchange office that carries out financial transfers contrary to official instructions.
The Security Media Cell stated in a statement, “The detachments of Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense seized one of the money changer offices in Baghdad that transfers external and internal remittances (dollars) contrary to the instructions of the Central Bank of Iraq.”
It added, “The other directorate’s detachments arrested 2 narcotics dealers in Armenian Camp area in Baghdad, with narcotic substances, and confiscated drug paraphernalia, and referred them for investigation.”
It continued, “One of those accused of electronic extortion was also arrested in Al-Hurriya area, against whom an arrest warrant was issued according to Article (430).
The cell stated, “The detachments of Dhi Qar Intelligence and Security Directorate were able to arrest a dealer and promoter of narcotic substances in Dhi Qar Governorate, judicial warrant issued against him. He is one of the most prominent targets of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security, and seized a quantity of crystal and narcotic pills in his possession.
