6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Northern Kuril Islands

Riyadh: A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck the northern Kuril Islands in the Pacific Ocean early this morning.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the earthquake's epicenter was located 208 kilometers east of Severo-Kurilsk, a city on Paramushir Island. The seismic event had a depth of 29 kilometers.

There have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage.
