The school transport fleet of Tatweer Transportation Services Company (Rafed) – the strategic partner of the Ministry of Education in the field of school transport – traveled more than 1.5 million kilometers during the more than 131,000 school trips in the first week of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Transported by a fleet of more than 13,000 buses and vehicles were more than 56,000 students at all levels of general education, including more than 16,000 students with disabilities, from over 10,000 schools in the Kingdom.

Rafed has completed all its preparations: periodically testing the fleet before the start of the current academic year; 14,000 checkups of the fleet were conducted by 200 administrators, supervisors, and field observers, to ensure that all safety standards are observed, including the “stop” signs, safety arms, seat belts, fire extinguishers, glass hammers, emergency exits, safety buttons, as well as the sensors connected to the AVL system.

The company also worked on developing and establi
shing technical systems and solutions to achieve efficiency and operational quality by automating security and safety procedures, launching an electronic platform for training and educating drivers, establishing a control room for direct and real-time tracking of school trips, and an electronic monitoring platform for violations.

The company also established the Rafid Aman application to submit reports and record data.
