Prince Naif bin Thunayan Announces Date of Third King Salman International Award Ceremony for Graduate Studies on Arabian Peninsula History and Civilization

Riyadh: Prince Dr. Naif bin Thunayan bin Mohammed, General Supervisor of King Salman's Center for Historical and Civilization Studies of the Arabian Peninsula at King Saud University, has announced the preparations for the third edition of the King Salman International Award for Graduate Studies in the History and Civilization of the Arabian Peninsula, set for 2026/1447 AH. The award ceremony will be hosted by King Saud University, demonstrating the institution's pride in presenting this prestigious international accolade named after Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the award aims to honor King Salman's commitment to supporting researchers and scholars, while also motivating graduate students from Saudi and international universities to conduct academic research focused on the history and civilization of the Arabian Peninsula. The award seeks to stimulate competition among researchers in producing distinguished academic theses both within and outside the Kingdom.

The award comprises two categories: distinguished master's theses (or equivalent) and doctoral dissertations. Recipients of the award will be honored with cash prizes, medals, and certificates featuring the award's logo. The current edition has introduced improvements in its regulations, committee structure, scientific evaluation criteria, nomination requirements, and prize values. Additionally, the nomination process has been broadened to include universities across the Arab world and internationally, unlike the previous editions which were confined to candidates from Saudi Arabia and GCC countries.

Prince Naif extended his gratitude to the Saudi leadership for its unwavering support of scientific research and academic programs both within the Kingdom and abroad.
