After An Armed Tribal Parade In Al- Aziziyah, The Minister Of Interior Orders To Detain The District Police Director And The Commander Of The First Wasit Emergency Regiment

The Minister of Interior, Abdu al-Amir al-Shammari, ordered to detain the police chief of al-Aziziyah district, north of Wasit, and the commander of the 1st Wasit Emergency Regiment, on the background of an armed conflict between two tribes and a military parade of medium and heavy weapons.

A source in Wasit Police told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “the minister directed the arrest of the District Police Director and the commander of the 1st Wasit Emergency Regiment as a result of their negligence in not applying the law and holding those who quarreled with weapons accountable from the two tribes. He added that the minister directed the Wasit Police Command to impose security, open an investigation into the incident and prosecute those involved, and conduct an investigation into the accident and prosecute those involved in tampering with the security of the province.
