Al-Azhar Sheikh Receives Minister of Islamic Affairs

Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb received Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh here today, on the sidelines of the 35th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Cairo.

The meeting addressed topics of mutual interest, particularly concerning coordinating the Joint Committee’s work between the ministry and Al-Azhar, sharing experiences, and promoting moderation in Islamic fields.

Sheikh Al-Tayeb commended the Kingdom for its outstanding contributions in serving Muslims worldwide. He also acknowledged the Kingdom’s exceptional participation in the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs conference in Egypt, presided over by the Minister of Islamic Affairs.

He praised Saudi women’s role in development and nation-building under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince.

Meanwhile, Minister of Islamic Affairs Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh underscored the signif
icant and prominent role that Al-Azhar plays in the world by disseminating science, culture, and knowledge, as well as combating extremism.

During the meeting, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh highlighted the endeavors of wise leadership in empowering women at local and international forums.

He presented Sheikh Al-Tayeb with a copy of the Holy Quran printed by the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex (KFGQPC).
