Al-Halbousi: The Parliament supports the government and the bilateral cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia

Baghdad – Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi confirmed that Parliament supports the government and the bilateral cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia.

A statement by the Parliament’s media department said, “The Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, received today, Thursday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and his accompanying delegation.”

The statement added, “The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, enhancing means of cooperation in the field of economy and investment, and joint coordination on regional and international issues.”

Al-Halbousi stressed the importance of activating the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council and the joint committees between the two countries, noting that the House of Representatives supports the government and the bilateral cooperation agreement by overcoming all legislative obstacles that contribute to achieving tangible results for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, the Saudi Foreign Minister affirmed that his country’s leadership supports the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation in all fields, including the field of investment; In order to build a sustainable economy, and that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks to achieve cooperation and integration with Iraq, which is a source of stability in the region.
