Al-Ju’ranah Mosque: A Historic Landmark and Miqat Rooted in the Prophet’s Legacy

Makkah: Al-Ju'ranah Mosque stands as a prominent Islamic and historical landmark in Makkah, carrying profound religious significance closely linked to the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It serves as a designated miqat (a station for assuming the state of ihram) for residents of Makkah and those arriving from that direction to perform Umrah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the mosque is located approximately 25 kilometers northeast of the Grand Mosque, covering an area of 2,677 square meters. Throughout the year, it welcomes countless pilgrims and visitors who gather to assume ihram, following the example of the Prophet, who entered the state of ihram at Al-Ju'ranah upon his return from the Battle of Hunayn.

Distinguished by its simple architectural style that reflects the spiritual essence of the historic site, the mosque witnesses a constant flow of worshippers, particularly during the peak Umrah and Hajj seasons. The location provides a tranquil atmosphere, enabling visitors to perform their rituals in a well-organized environment supported by comprehensive, integrated services.

The mosque has received extensive attention and care from the Saudi government as part of an ongoing national effort to preserve historical mosques and elevate their operational capacities. This commitment aligns directly with the strategic objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes the preservation of Islamic heritage sites and the continuous enhancement of services provided to pilgrims.
