Bahraini Minister of Transportation: We look forward to cooperation between Khalifa and Al-Faw ports for the transportation of goods

The Chargé d’Affairs of the Republic of Iraq in Manama affirmed Iraq’s keenness to enhance cooperation and develop relations between the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, “The Chargé d’Affairs of the Republic of Iraq in Manama, Abdul Salam Saddam Muhaisen, met the Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Communications, Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi, at the headquarters of the Bahraini Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

The statement added that the Chargé d’Affairs reviewed the strong and historical relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.

He added that the Chargé d’Affaires also presented a brief on the development road project that connects the port of Faw with Turkey through a network of roads and railways, which was put forward at the Jeddah Summit by the Prime Minister, which will provide about (100) thousand job opportunities, and the volume of investments will be about (20) billion dollars. He also mentioned the establishment of integrated industrial zones, and Iraq would be a link between the Gulf and Europe through the port of Faw.

For his part, the Bahraini Minister of Transport and Communications praised the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries and the aspiration for cooperation between the two countries, especially between the ports of Khalifa and Al-Faw for the transportation of goods. He also stressed that the air services agreement between the two countries is under study and research by the competent Bahraini authorities.
