Sanaa: With a series of mobility projects and initiatives in Yemen, the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has bolstered connectivity and improved daily life while boosting trade and economic flow among various governorates. The program’s comprehensive approach facilitates safe movement for individuals to and from Yemen by land, sea, and air. The initiatives address various facets of the transportation sector, including airports, roads, ports, and crossings, significantly improving mobility, infrastructure, and logistical opportunities while enhancing access to different services and markets.

According to Saudi Press Agency, with a focus on boosting road efficiency and quality, SDRPY rehabilitated around 150 kilometers of roads across different governorates and upgraded internal roads to ease traffic flow and facilitate access to healthcare, education, and commercial facilities, thus improving the quality of daily life.

Among the remarkable projects is the rehabilitation of the Hajjat Al-Abed Road, a vital artery linking Taiz with other governorates. The project is crucial, with this lifeline serving around five million Yemenis, enabling them to travel amid enhanced traffic safety.

Furthermore, the expansion and rehabilitation of the Alaber Road, connecting Yemeni governorates and Yemen with Saudi Arabia, stand out as another significant achievement. The road is an international and strategic link, benefiting over 11 million people. The road is used to transport commercial shipments and the transit of passengers with a high level of safety and ease of connection among cities.
