Lebanese Forces’ leader, Samir Geagea, deprecated the obstruction of the municipal and mayoral elections, especially amid a disrupted presidential juncture and the full paralysis sweeping the country.

Geagea hosted last night an Iftar banquet at his Maarab residence, in the presence of representatives of the Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdellatif Derian and Druze Sheikh Aql Sami Abil Mona, in addition to a panel of ambassadors, diplomats and lawmakers.

“The current exceptional situation in Lebanon requires exceptional solutions,” said the LF chief. “Everybody must know that the essence of the crisis lies in the presence of an illegitimate armed organization representing a statelet that is stronger than the state and that confiscates its strategic decision,” he added.

Commenting on the latest developments in occupied Palestine, Geagea said that “what is happening in Al-Aqsa Mosque is a blatant violation,” urging the Arab League and the UN Security Council to take the necessary action before chaos takes over.

On a different note, he hoped that the recent reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran would lead to the dissolution of the illegitimate armed organizations from Yemen to Lebanon.
