HM King holds talks with HM King of Jordan

Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held talks with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan attended the talks.

HM the King welcomed the visit of HM King Abdullah II, affirming the depth of the historic Bahraini-Jordanian relations.

Their Majesties reviewed bilateral ties and means to further consolidate cooperation in various domains.

His Majesty King Hamad hailed the pivotal role of Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in defending the interests of the Arab Nation and supporting its fair causes, particularly the Palestinian cause and mobilising peace efforts in the region.

The talks discussed ongoing regional and international developments, mainly the military escalation in the Gaza Strip.

Their Majesties emphasised the priority of protecting civilian lives in line with international humanitarian law and securing urgent humanitarian corridors for relief and medical aid in the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of preventing the obstruction of the work of international organisations performing their humanitarian efforts.

The two leaders underscored the importance of averting the ramifications of a new violence cycle in the region and working to find a political breakthrough for a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace.

Their Majesties underlined their keenness on consolidating joint action to achieve peace in the region, based on the approach of the countries on promoting coexistence and regional cooperation.

Their Majesties affirmed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to halt military operations; prevent forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza; de-escalation; give impetus for efforts to achieve permanent, just and comprehensive peace; and establish an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the two-state solution and in line with international legitimacy resolutions.

They affirmed keenness on continuous coordination and consultation to achieve mutual interests, serve Arab causes, and preserve regional and international security and stability.

His Majesty King Abdullah II warned of the ongoing deterioration of the situation in the Gaza Strip, reiterating the importance of finding a political solution for the Palestinian cause to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

His Majesty stressed that ending the siege on the Gaza Strip is crucial to end the deterioration of the humanitarian condition.

His Majesty valued the efforts of the two countries to end the war on Gaza.

His Majesty expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad for the warm welcome and hospitality, affirming the strength of the historic, solid ties between Bahrain and Jordan.
