Rabat – Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Dr. Salem bin Mohammad Al-Malik affirmed the organization’s commitment to work and cooperate with its Member States to achieve the aspirations of the women and girls of the Islamic world for a more equitable future for them, in which they occupy a higher percentage of leadership positions in various fields.
In a virtual speech delivered during a symposium held by the Moroccan Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family on the topic “Green job opportunities to enhance the economic empowerment of women as active parties in sustainable development and climate change reduction”, he called for more attention to the green and circular economy, and green jobs in women’s entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, as well as nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation in women-run enterprises.
ICESCO’s Director General reviewed the most prominent initiatives implemented by the organization during its celebration of Women Year, referring to its programs for women’s leadership, training them on leadership for peace and security, and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in this category.
