The Balkans: The final qualifiers for the largest international Holy Quran memorization competition commenced in the Balkans yesterday. The three-day competition is organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, in cooperation with the Islamic Sheikdom of the Republic of Kosovo and in coordination with the Saudi embassy in the Republic of Albania.

According to Saudi Press Agency, since its inception, the competition has attracted more than 2,350 male and female contestants from 22 countries in the Balkans and Europe.

With a total prize value of SAR500,000 and an estimated overall budget of SAR1.2 million, the competition underscores the Kingdom’s support and care for the Holy Quran and its memorizers worldwide.
