Justice Minister Meets with Criminal Court Leaders, Urges Judicial Excellence

Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani convened yesterday with the heads of criminal courts in Riyadh, emphasizing the developments in the field to ensure that they remain well-informed about the latest legislation.

Al-Samaani expressed gratitude for the steadfast support the judiciary receives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the oversight of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of criminal court presidents, Al-Samaani highlighted their responsibility in expediting justice by actively monitoring case progress and enhancing the efficiency of judicial panels.

He urged court leaders and judges to leverage the digital transformation initiatives taken by the ministry to facilitate swift delivery of justice and ensure the rapid recovery of rights.

Al-Samaani reaffirmed the rights of defendants, including the right to legal counsel, the right to full knowledge of the charges, and indictment
copies, the principle of confrontation, and the court’s obligation to provide thorough legal reasonings for rulings.
