Riyadh-- The American magazine "Newsweek" has listed King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC) and its King Abdulaziz and King Khalid Hospitals among the best hospitals internationally for the year 2022, based on improved performance indicators in health care, infection control measures, patient safety, and other indicators related to the quality of medical services. KSUMC was distinguished in improving the safe environment for patients by periodically measuring performance indicators, analyzing and studying risks, and taking the necessary measures while developing action plans to improve and develop those procedures.

KSUMC has obtained several international accreditations, such as the "Diamond Degree" certificate, the highest rating from the Canadian Accreditation Commission, after its success in the comprehensive assessment by the commission's team on its compliance with quality standards that are internationally recognized in King Khalid and King Abdulaziz Hospitals.

King Saud University Medical City also obtained the accreditation of the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI). At the same time, the College of Pharmacy and the University Medical City at King Saud University received the accreditation of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists “ASHP” for 8 years on the clinical pharmacy residency program.

ASHP is the only accreditation body for this Program in the US aimed at preparing highly qualified health practitioners through training programs that ensure the highest levels of knowledge.

KSUMC also won the American Society for Health Information Management Systems award for achieving the sixth level classification. The classification of the Health Information Management Systems Association “HIMSS” consists of 8 stages, starting from the zero level to the seventh level, to assess the extent to which hospitals are employing health information systems applications and health technology.
