King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, IDB Inaugurate Mobile Medical Units in Tajikistan

King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) inaugurated the mobile medical units in the Republic of Tajikistan, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Matlubakhon Sattoriyon; Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan Walid bin Abdurrahman Al-Rashidan; Tajik Minister of Health And Social Protection, Jamal Al-Din Abdullah and a number of officials.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the audience were briefed on the equipment of the mobile medical units, which contain (5) specialized medical clinics, support trailers and an ambulance.

For his part, Director of the Humanitarian Programs Sector at King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Janfawi explained that the mobile medical units in Tajikistan – one of the achievements of the Foundation’s Fael Khair Program – provide five mobile clinics to the beneficiary areas, serving more than 700,000 people in Tajikistan throughout five years, at a cost of $18 million.

He further said that since its launch, the project has been working to provide health services in (7) Asian countries in rural areas, by establishing (75) mobile medical clinics, and subsidizing the costs of medicines and medical supplies for people with acute and chronic diseases, to serve nearly (6) million people in those countries.
