Minister Of Interior: The Ministry Received Unlimited Support From The PM To Combat Drugs

The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, confirmed today, Sunday, that the ministry received unlimited support from the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to combat drugs.

The ministry stated in a statement, “Today, the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, participated in the conference that was held in the city of Erbil under the auspices of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers under the title (Combat Narcotic Substances and Psychotropic Substances),” indicating that “the conference included a group of speeches delivered by dignitaries and the authorities concerned with combating this scourge.”

Al-Shammari stressed, according to the statement, that “the drug crime is one of the most important and dangerous crimes that threaten the Iraqi state,” stressing that it “comes among the priorities of the executive officials specialized in the security file in the country.”

He pointed out that “drugs have occupied vast areas in the thinking of modern societies due to the negative effects resulting from them and their devastating effects in all aspects of social, economic, political and security life.”

He pointed out that “the Ministry of the Interior, as the primary concerned authority in confronting this major crime, received unlimited support from the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, which prompted us to develop more realistic and more ambitious future plans in confronting drugs and psychotropic substances, and containing their effects and put the correct treatments for it.”/End
