Riyadh: The National Center for Wildlife (NCW) represented Saudi Arabia at the 30th International Primatological Society (IPS) Congress, held from July 20 to 25 in Antananarivo, Madagascar: During the event, NCW presented two peer-reviewed scientific papers recently published in the International Journal of Primatology. The papers highlighted the environmental and social challenges posed by the growing baboon population in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the NCW's team highlighted the Kingdom's unique experience in mitigating the impacts of the increasing number of baboons based on scientific studies featured in leading primate journals. The IPS Congress is a premier international scientific forum dedicated to primatology, bringing together scientists and researchers from around the world.
Saudi Arabia's participation underscores its commitment to advancing environmental scientific research and showcasing national models that integrate knowledge with field practice. These efforts align with the goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 in the areas of sustainability and biodiversity conservation.
