The National Security Agency thwarted a terrorist plan to target citizens and security forces, and arrested two ISIS terrorists in Kirkuk.

The agency stated in a statement that its detachments in Kirkuk province, in coordination with the command of the advanced headquarters for joint operations and the provincial police command, arrested two ISIS terrorists, hours after they targeted a local police point in the province.

It added, “The terrorists confessed that they intended to target citizens and the security services in separate areas of the province during the coming days, through a series of bombings in crowded public markets.”

It explained: “One of them, nicknamed “Abu Dujana”, had previously detonated an explosive device targeting a police patrol, and targeting a vehicle with a hand grenade that led to the death of one of the associates, in addition to being responsible for opening a guest house for one of the terrorist detachments in the Laylan district of Kirkuk.
