NCA Implements Program to Enhance Cybersecurity for Hajj Season 2024

Riyadh: A program aimed to enhance the cyber readiness of the services provided during this year’s Hajj season, including developing specialized national capabilities in cybersecurity and raising the level of cybersecurity awareness among the pilgrims and authorities’ employees has been implemented by The National Cybersecurity Authority (NSA).

The program’s main tracks include technical cyber assessments, monitoring and responding to cyber threats, improving the efficiency of cyber capabilities, and raising awareness of cybersecurity.

Additionally, the program involves establishing a cyber operations room that operates around the clock to monitor and analyze cyber threats and share results with national agencies, allocating cyber incident response teams, and conducting assessments to measure the cyber risks of sensitive assets and systems of national agencies.

The NCA stated that the program includes conducting a “cybersecurity exercise for the Hajj season 1445,” which aims to develop the skills of cybers
ecurity specialists in national agencies, familiarize them with the latest methods used in cyber attacks, and equip them with strategies for dealing with such threats effectively.

Furthermore, the program includes implementing a set of awareness initiatives to raise the level of cybersecurity awareness of pilgrims and employees of national authorities on duty during this year’s Hajj season.

This program includes organizing two exhibitions to raise awareness of cybersecurity for pilgrims at the Hajj and Umrah Hall complex and Terminal 1 at King Abdulaziz International Airport, organizing an awareness exhibition on cybersecurity for employees of national agencies, and holding specialized sessions to raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity for employees of national agencies participating in the Hajj season.
